I am very excited to be currently working on a debut album. Dwayne and I connected through an online collaboration and since then I have been lucky enough to track drums for Dwayne's passion project. A little about this album from the artist himself, Dwayne Wegley.
I wrote this album over a span of about 15 years. The songs just kind of came together out of whatever I was going through at these different times. None of them are very complex… but the realness and simplicity of these songs are what means so much to me. They are kind of candid photographs of life, love, loss, the struggle of depression, boredom and trying to find my way through. For me, it came out kind of poetic and organic in just letting things turn out the way they were felt. Most of these are the original recordings because I wanted them to feel the way they would have been heard at the time they were written… To feel like they were found in a box, dusted off and polished up and played again.
I was influenced and inspired a lot by Elliot Smith, Iron and Wine, Josh Ritter, Nick Drake, Townes Van Zandt and
other singer-songwriter or folk bands and artists that I love to listen to.
